The revamped 2003 Avante XD models have arrived in Korea! This will become the 2004 model elsewhere in the world. It features a revised grille, bumpers, clear tail light lenses, as well as aluminum dash trim and an alloy pedal set! Brakes and air bags are said to be upgraded. But the biggest news is the variable valve timing (VVT) technology for the 2.0L Beta engine. According to our Korean sources this engine will produce 143hp @ 6,000 RPM and 135 ft/lbs. of torque @ 4,500 RPM. Testers have said the acceleration is definitely improved... stay tuned! 2003 Elantra GT Update

Well the 2003's have finally hit the U.S. showrooms and there are some changes. Although mostly unchanged the 2003 GT hatchback will feature a standard black decklid spoiler and standard floor mats. Otherwise, it's pretty much status quo.

The really big news is the availability of a handsome new GT sedan! The sedan has all the features of the hatch (leather seats, purple gauges, etc.) but no rear wiper. However, it will feature a prominent, aggressive, body color rear spoiler. The GT sedan's grill is now identical to the GT hatch and further differentiates it from GLS model grill. Fog lights are also included in the package.

Color choices remain unchanged. Both cars feature Hyundai's 10 year, 100,000 mile powertrain warranty, and 5 year bumper to bumper coverage.
